Jet recording their second album

It's been 2 years since Get Born. Jet is now recording their next album. They have already written 27 songs, but not all will make it onto the album.

"We started writing these songs in Barbados, just after Homebake Dec 2004. Next we met to write in Nth Brookfield, (Mass) at the famed Longview farm studio. We met in LA twice. Chris was very happy. We also did some work in Sth Melbourne where we spent some time writing amazing songs next to some of the least amazing bands on Earth. Nic and Mark were happy. Although, we have all been back to Australia periodically in the last 2 years...and can say that it is always hard to leave."

This is the kind of news I like to hear.

I've been wondering when their next album was going to get rolling. 27 songs already, huh? Hopefully that means that a third album won't come too long after the second. Jet's sophomore attempt is sure to be wicked; I'm glad they are taking their time in making sure it kicks as much ass as possible.
